From Italy, to the world

[ssbp]

If there’s one country that can complete your cycling needs from the apparel and the bike itself, it will probably be Italy. Over the years, Italian brands have built a reputation when it comes to its know-how and this definitely extends to cycling technical sportswear.

Aside from Italian’s craftsmanship, the country’s love affair with cycling is deeply rooted to its culture. The history of cycling as a sport in Italy can be traced back to the end of the nineteenth century when the first races were organized. This was solidified following the astounding achievements of cyclists Fausto Coppi and Gino Bartali in the international cycling scene.

Since then, cycling is more than just a pastime for the Italian but has become a primary method of transportation and a growing business opportunity. It has been home to some of the historic cycling brands such as De Marchi, Bianchi, and Pinarello.

While our Italian know-how and engineering are a great homage to the Italian cycling culture, our products are made in Italy for a strategic business decision as well.

Most of Elastic Interface®’s suppliers are based in the Northern part of Italy: specifically, 75% of the purchased raw materials in a year comes from suppliers located within 100 km from our headquarters. While Lombardy, Veneto, and Tuscan regions record the highest number of cycling clubs in Italy, the Veneto region is also known as the world capital of technical sportswear manufacturing. With the reputation, it is no surprise that we chose to locate our production exactly in the sportsystem district of Asolo and Montebelluna.

Partnering with close suppliers and having the production close, also allows Elastic Interface® to operate with a short supply chain. This means faster production line and most importantly, reduced environmental impact.

For Elastic Interface®, to be made in Italy is not just about country patronage. It means having a deep understanding of what it means to create high-quality cycling gear, while being able to reduce our impact in the environment.
